Councils
Councils
NYGFOA divides the state into five regions, each consisting of groups of counties. These regions are part of the overall structure of NYGFOA and do not require separate membership. Each region is represented by a council of nine members who are elected by the membership. The councils are instrumental in the development of educational programming and networking opportunities for their respective region. The five regional council chairs also serve on the Board of Governors, and along with the officers of the board, constitute the Executive Committee. The term for each council position is one year.
The process for election to the council is through a nominating committee. The nominating committee presents the slate of council members during the Association's Annual Meeting for a vote by the members.
