This interactive session will cover the legalities and challenges in the world of municipal purchasing, bidding, and piggybacking requirements.  In addition to a presentation, attendees will have time to discuss the topic at their tables and, at the end of the session, ask questions and share best practices.

2:45 - 4:00 pm  | Governmental Accounting Software Roundtable - Challenges and Best Practices // NYGFOA Services Overview

This entirely interactive session features discussions on a topic close to most (if not all) government finance officers - governmental accounting software.  Small groups will discuss the types of software utilized in their entity, the pros and cons of the systems used, and a sharing of best practices when choosing, implementing, and upgrading accounting software systems.  Facilitators from the small groups will share what was discussed with everyone.   

The last 15 minutes of the session will feature a review of the many services available to NYGFOA members (but which you may not be aware!).

REGISTRATION POLICY: 

  • Payment should be made in advance or brought with you to the seminar.
  • Pre-registration is preferred.
  • On-site registrations are accepted; however, there will be an additional fee of $10.00. 
  • If you need a hard copy of the registration form, please contact the office. 

CPE/GFI CREDITS

  • CPE and GFI credit can be earned by verified attendees of the Seminar. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: 

  • Cancellation notices must be made in writing and emailed to info@nygfoa.org.
  • Cancellations made up to one week prior to the event, will be refunded the registration fee less an administrative fee of $15.00.
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than one week before the event; the registrant is liable for the full amount of registration.
  • No Shows are liable for all registration fees.

  • By registering for this seminar, you give NYGFOA the right to publish and distribute photos and/or videos taken of you during the program.
